Updating my review of this Tamaleria. After many months under new ownership. Also after 6-7 recent tamale purchases here. I can say...they are getting much better. Consistent too. Masa got fixed. Over all balance too. I am back at 4 stars for this place.

We normally come every year for christmas eve, this year I was late they are always so nice to us. I think it's the daughters that work in the front now, but they were out my fault because it was late, but the young lady in the front said she had half a dozen green & I was so happy. I had to come back to pick up at 8, but I am grateful she offered if I wanted to come back so thank you to her. We will always support Maria's. Best tamales in San Gabriel Valley!!! Thank you again the girls are so nice in the front (:

This is my second time here and this place amazes me. The tamales were already very good but they are even better this time. They have the recipe hands down, shout out to the new owner. We order red and green sauce and cheese and jalapeños and they were the bonb. The service was amazing as well and the place is very nice and clean. I definitely recommend this place.

I bought a couple dozen tamales a few weeks ago. I didn't realize the business was under new owners. I figured what the heck and bought them anyways. My family loved them. I already have x-mas orders from the family. So, I'll definitely be back. Plus the young lady at the register was super nice.

I had no idea that Maria's was under new ownership! This place has been my family's go-to for tamales for years and years. Feels like the end of an era. We purchased one dozen tamales, plus four on the side. The total was $56, admittedly more than we are accustomed to paying for tamales. I'm trying not to compare the old with the new, but I had a cheese tamale and I have to say, I like these new cheese tamales better than the old! The masa was moist and they used a good amount of cheese and a strip of jalapeño for flavor. It was delicious. My husband had the red tamale and he said the flavor of the sauce was completely different than what he used to get. He mentioned it almost tasted like canned sauce, and he was not a fan of it. The service was great, and there was not a wait at all. I was expecting a line like there used to be on Friday mornings, but it was pretty empty to be honest. Overall, the cheese were good, but not sure I will be returning since my husband wasn't a fan. Maybe this is my sign to start making my own!

It's me and my wife's second time here because they have very good tamales and service but I don't know what they did to the tamales but today they were the best Tamales we have ever had. If you're craving tamales one day and want to get some this is the place guaranteed! The staff especially the young lady in the front today is very welcoming and friendly.

Some of the BEST tamales in the San Gabriel Valley. They just focus on tales and tortas now. Moist tamales with good amount of meat and not too much masa. Good prices compared to other places around.

I've been coming here for years and this place remains consistent and delicious. There is a wait to make your purchase but the wait is worth it. As soon as you walk in you can smell the delicious aroma of tamales. They have red and green made of pork, then rajas con queso, and sweet flavors (pineapple and strawberry), all are delicious and very fluffy. Service is quick and the ladies are super friendly. The parking is shared with other businesses and a church so at times it's challenging to get a spot.
